Be warned; The posted opening hours are fiction. Took two long trips to go there on separate occasions - and it was completely shut up. It used to be somewhere worth visiting..... Update your Google hours of business!

I went twice this week cause I wanted to visit this amazing place for the first time. I went during the open hours that Google shows, and both times it was closed. Not sure if they're on vacation or hours have changed cause there's no sign or note on socials.

Tucked Away Treasure 📚🇬🇧 The English Fine Books shop is hidden down a charming alley but easy to find with Google Maps. I needed a holiday read in English and they had a great selection. The owner was lovely and very helpful!

Amazing place to roam around and find hidden gems! Every time I go I find something new!!

Last year I visit this fancy bookshop with my gitlfriend and I was very happy and energyized after the meet up with the owner. This year today I came again, to see if the owner had remembering my visit, and yes!!! He remembered my face! I was very happy about and also he has also very good books. You can find everything! From Theology til Army History Books. I can only recommend this book store! If you read this (the owner) thank you for Everything! You had shaped my life a little bit!

Interesting place to find in a non English speaking remote location. Shop if full of different vintage English books, different ages of publications, some are very precious pieces. Though don’t expect to find anything modern

Recientemente visité una encantadora librería de segunda mano en la calle Morey de Palma, y me sorprendió gratamente. El lugar tiene un aire antiguo que te transporta a épocas pasadas, con estantes llenos de libros que parecen tener historias propias. Aunque la mayoría de los libros están en inglés y son bastante antiguos, también hay algunas joyas en castellano. El personal fue muy amable y atento, ayudándome a encontrar justo lo que buscaba. La atmósfera de la tienda, combinada con la amabilidad del equipo, hizo de mi visita una experiencia realmente agradable. Definitivamente volveré a explorar más entre sus estantes llenos de historia.

Sehr schön eingerichtet, nette Leute, gebrauchte Bücher in Deutsch, Skandinavisch, Niederländisch, vieles mehr und ganz viele Englische Bücher:)

Una sorpresa en el casco viejo de Palma de Mallorca. Una típica librería de textos en ingles antiguos y no tanto, primeras ediciones.. Fue traída de Bournemouth England por su dueño original, quien al fallecer confía sus tesoros a quien mantiene esta joyita con el mismo encanto que tuvo en Inglaterra. Digno de visitar y disfrutar de sua tesoros ...y por qué no invertir en alguna primera edición para llevarse a casa! Un lujo!

Not open at 11am on a Saturday when it says it is :(

You should not pay attention for old reviews about mold on the walls and books in “really bad condition”. I have been there today and spend joyful 2 hours of my life exploring the store. Even if you not into collector’s thing, you can find interesting modern titles (5-15 y.o). Bought something for my collection and really wanna say thank you to the owner and workers for the vibe inside selection of the books.

Amazing store can’t wait to go back and really dig into it, so many interesting and valuable items, Chris and Cecile are the best! Highly recomended.

Beautiful store but somewhat disorganised and the smell of mold and moisture is strong. Several books had visible mold on the pages.

Es una biblioteca inglesa con los libros más antiguos de todos los géneros literarios , hay joyas literarias.

Sieht aufgrund der Optik und der Rezensionen hier erstmal ganz einladend aus. Wenn man aber hereinläuft und vom Besitzer eher unfreundlich angesprochen wird, was man den wolle und auf „Just wanna take a Look“ als Antwort bekommt, dass das kein Museum sei aber nur zu, kriegt man schon schlechte Laune. Dazu noch die nicht überschaubare Menge an unbrauchbaren (weil oft einfach heruntergekommenen) Büchern und ich bin direkt wieder raus. Wie soll man denn in dem Chaos was finden, ohne erstmal zu schauen. Hätte ich gesagt, was ich will, hätte er doch eh nicht gewusst, wo ich es finde.

Personally I didn't like it that much. The owner is a British guy kind of rude. It seems like a house full of used books. People like to go there to get lost reading the titles of old books within the whole house. The house is like a labyrinth.

As soon as you enter the store you are requested to "not waste my time" from the owner or whoever that old dude was. This rude welcome and the stench in that so called store, which is just a room filled with shady old books, were reason enough to turn around on the doorstep and leave immediately. Not recommendable

Wer nicht unter Klaustrophobie leidet und ein kleines Abenteuer sucht ist hier richtig. Wer in Ruhe und in einladendem Ambiente nach englischsprachigen Büchern suchen möchte hat es deutlich schwerer. Vor allem im Kellerbereich muss man sich schon sehr zusammen reißen um nicht schnell wieder zu flüchten. Es ist eindeutig, dass es hier schimmelt und viele Bücher nicht mehr zu retten sind. Wahrscheinlich waren viele der Bücher tatsächlich sehr lesenswert, aber wie gesagt, vieles scheint nicht mehr zu retten. Aber allein den Laden zu besichtigen ist ein Erlebnis. Drei Sterne gebe ich deshalb, weil ich keine falschen Hoffnungen bei denjenigen wecken möchte, die ernsthaft auf der Suche nach bestimmten Büchern sind. Hier etwas zu finden ist absolute Glückssache.

Die Berichte, die den Laden mit der Hogwards Bibliothek vergleichen, kann ich nicht bestätigen. Der Laden ist sehr, sehr vollgestopft, die Bücher sind vollkommen unsortiert und vor allem kaputt und riechen nicht gut (der Geruch bestimmt das Feeling im Laden). Der Besitzer ist mir gegenüber sehr unsympathisch aufgetreten und hat verweigert, dass ich meinen Rucksack (ein kleiner Rucksack mit meinen Wertsachen waren) mit in den Laden nehmen durfte und wollte, dass ich ihn bei ihm lasse. Als ich Bedenken geäußert habe, habe ich lediglich eine geblaffte Antwort erhalten. Auf eine Frage, wo ich eine bestimmte Art Bücher zu finden seien, war die Antwort: "Da müssen Sie suchen." Diese Kombination sind der Grund für meine nur geringe Anzahl an Sternen. Ich kann es nicht empfehlen, für Leute, die wirklich ernsthaft nach englischsprachigen Büchern suchen. Und auch sonst eigentlich niemandem, der nicht Lust hat, einen etwas langen Moment an Scham und Unbehagen durchzumachen.

Lugar emblemático. Libros de todas las épocas e idiomas. Para encontrar un libro en concreto se necesita tiempo y paciencia, pero solo verlo, merece la pena. Es increíble.

Lots of poor quality second hand books and an overwhelming smell of mold and mildew. I wouldn't come back and there was nothing there worth buying. If you suffer from claustrophobia, definitely do not visit.

Flash , Bang, Wallop what a Bookshop ! As an Antique dealers son (My Dad is the same age as Rodney) I was full of amazement when i first walked down yet another beautiful Palma terrace only to stumble across Rodney (one day out of lock down by the way) .......anyway to cut a long story short , Rodney is Marmite (if you do not know what Marmite is please Google it ) So with the English Bookshop if you do not like the taste then do not go in , but please do not waste your time writing nasty stuff about it for gods sake, i think their may be more important things to do (I have much more Important things to do , but i need tell you all how good this place really is ) Anyway i happen to like Marmite so i went in and I was suddenly in the library at Hogwarts ( If you do not know what Hogwarts is please google it ) ...... To be honest I do not want to say to much as i do not really want to publicise it, but if you are bothering to read this and you do go there and if you look hard beyond the dust but at the shelves you will find true treasures in hardback, signed first editions, every title possible, lost classics (can i stop now ) It is a dusty old masterpiece of a shop with a grumpy owner, but get to know him and he is as lovable and interesting as any of the random original art pieces he has hanging on his walls so as Marmite Advertising says : Like it or Love it Personally i loved it , will always visit and will never forget it

Trust me, you want to go down this rabbit hole. I'm pretty sure if I had taken one wrong turn down there I'd be living in Narnia right now.

Wonderful place for every book lover.

Una librería increíble y muy poco conocida. Todos sus libros están en inglés, pero me recuerda a esas bibliotecas de película. Tiene los pasillos estrechos y adentrarse allí es una pasada. Puedo sentir la magia al pasar por esos pasillos. Los libros son de segunda mano y algunos se conservan muy bien, a demás son muy baratos. El señor que atiende también es extranjero y muy amable. Merece la pena indagar allí. Tiene desde los escritores más famosos hasta los menos conocidos.

El dueño es un impresentable. Entramos a mirar y nos para diciendo, de muy malas formas, que "no quiere gente mirando" y que le preguntemos por el libro que buscamos específicamente. Cómo no vas a mirar en una librería de segunda mano? Además no había ninguna medida de seguridad (gel hidroalcoholico) ni carteles ni nada y olía a cerrado y a humedad.

I went in to browse. Listened to the owner's complaints about how no-one buys books any more because of mobile phones, and resolved to find something I wanted to buy/read. Unfortunately, none of the books is priced and so the owner can charge you whatever he thinks you're likely to pay. Which is how I ended up paying €10 for a dog-eared paperback (complete with coffee ring on cover) that would have been £1.99 in a UK second hand bookshop. So be prepared to haggle and don't listen to sob stories.

Le he preguntado por Atlas históricos y lo primero que me ha dicho es que son caros y en inglés. Será que tengo cara de indigente y/o analfabeto... Me ha llevado al piso inferior y me ha mirado la mochila como si fuera a llevarme algo. Le je preguntado por el precio de un atlas histórico: primero me dice que vale cien euros, luego que me lo deja en cuarenta y cuando le digo que es muy grande y no sé cómo llevarmelo en el avión -reconozco que es culpa mía preguntar por un producto que es muy probable que no me vaya a llevar- y me manda literalmente a la porra en inglés. Yo le respondo algo parecido en inglés... Supongo que el hombre estará hasta las narices de tanto curioso, pero es que ese tipo de tiendas son en parte para eso. Por lo demás, es un sitio para estar hojeando libros durante días. En resumen: Scrooge tiene una librería en Palma.

Imposible catalogar, tiene 70.000 libros y no saben donde, una locura mágica

Un univers extraordinaire, un personnage de roman veille sur ses lieux hors du temps. Tout est en Anglais, des couloirs, des recoins , on monte, on descend, on s'émerveille ...des milliers de livres et quelques objets comme abandonnés telle une statue, un holster de film de cowboy, etc. On a l'impression qu'il y a de la magie, on est Poudlard, bien sûr il y a un peu de poussière...

Hidden out of sight and experience you wont forget. Walking down Palma’s back alleys I stumbled upon an extraordinary shop which reminded me of one of these old enchanted shops out of a story book. And it is all about books... thousands of the all over the place. In fact, you'd take a lifetime to catalogue them, never mind read then. If you are a bookworm longing for the nostalgic perfume of old literature, this is your heaven. Predominantly English reading every style you can imagine. I love it.

I was walking past this store and decided I would go in later that day...that was until he owner screamed at as I was walking up the street. Shouting for me to get off my phone and get a life. A very rude and bitter man. Avoid!

This is one of my favorite bookstores. Old books, hundreds of them, form a perfect mess here. The owner seems like came out from a book himself, an old English man, that can be really nice or get mad with you, just like a grandpa.

Eccentric but fun book shop. Extremely narrow walking ale, with all kinds of books - mostly in English. This shop is like a mystery computer game; when you think you came to and end, a new ale is opening just 1 meter from you. I have never seen a book shop like this, it is an adventure just to walk around. Avoid backpacks, its too narrow. If you are claustrophobic, don't enter.

Wow! Crazy chaos! The store is like something out of a movie set. One could easily spend a day here!!

I really like this book shop, but the only problem is moving around. There isn't that much space. The owner doesn't like it if you bring a backpack into the shop, I only had my handbag today.

When I walk by, I hear the owner constantly yelling at people for being on their phones on the street. Plus, one time I went in and asked him for help 4 times and he didn’t even look at me. One time I came in with a backpack and then I heard him start to talk about how horrible people are for bringing backpacks in the shop. Cool place but that man needs to learn some customer service.

You wanna seen real life Black Books? If you wander this shop long enough you will find a kitchen and a toilet! So many books you can't even choose one. Still I will remember this shop as the most magical place I visited in Palma. The owner, very nice guy surely knows his stuff!

Yes there is a great selection of old books and the owner is nice, but it is a real mess. Books everywhere and not really classified. Also, you only know the price at the end and it is not that cheap.

An incredible selection of used books. The majority are in English. Its own and run by an old English man who was very friendly. I highly recommend to check it out. Its like walking into a dream if you are into books.

Very nice bookstore with a ton of old English books. I could easily spend a whole day at this store. Highly recommend for a visit when you are in Palma de Mallorca. This bookshop is situated nearby the Santa María cathedral, just a few minutes walk from there.

My partner will no longer go with me. You can spend hours looking for gems here (which I do), and you will find many. Rodney is always good for some banter, and can help you find some great new authors based on your likes as well.

this store has nazi memorabilia hidden away on the bottom floor (I would hope not for the german tourists who visit). When I confronted the shop owner about it he yelled at me to get out of the store. just horrible! don't support this place.

Amazing second hand bookstore in 3 floors full of mainly English books of every genre. Be sure to have some time in your hands as you might get lost amongst the book shelves.

Ocean of books. Shop looks very small but goes 3 floors down and has books on every topic. All of them arranged in some manner. I bought 8 books and stopped as my baggage limit might have exceeded. A must visit point in Palma city.

A place from a fairytale!

A Dream for all the book lovers out there! It's an old cramped bookstore full of old and new books. Not only will you find English ones but German books too! The owner of the job is a lovely man who is a native English speaker, so you will have no problems to communicate with him. I wouldn't recommend it to people who want to pick up a specific book fast as it is not neatly arranged.

They have 3 stories of antique maps, books,and art. If you have time it's a cool place to stop and browse.

Absolutamente inesperado. Uno puede perderse horas infinitas rebuscando en sus estanterías. Tanta joyas cuasi olvidadas. Siempre me apena pensar que no puedo llevármelas todas a casa. La mayoría de obras están, como es natural, en inglés. Altamente recomendable.

This bookstore was absolutely amazing. I'm a student of English literature and I couldn't have asked for a better hole in the wall shop, full of books ranging from 200 years old to brand new. The owner was positively lovely. He could tell you exactly where any book was that you may be looking for. I would absolutely recommend to any and every book lover.

Great place to find quality books

Best place I have ever been. Definitely worth getting stuck in.

This is the kind of shop that appears out of the blue in a blank wall, causes a few ripples of the supernatural sort in the local vicinity and disappears without a trace. Or maybe that only happens in Ankh Morpork? There are three floors of books so tightly packed that you have to turn sideways to get to some parts of the shop. But it's not just books, they are all sorts of random things including (when I went) an old globe, some swords and a Nazi officer's uniform. I would describe the proprietor as aggressively eccentric. If you don't mind his colourful language and random rants about Ryanair, teachers and people with degrees then this place needs to be on your to-do list if you visit Palma.

A must visit in Palma. Bring your backpack and ask the owner about modern education.

I have never seen so many brilliant books in one place in my whole life. I love books and 'Fine Books' is a book lovers dream. Fabulous! Ask the owner 'Rodney' where any title is and he will invariably find it. Amazing shop! Well worth a visit if you're in Palma de Mallorca.
